Problem with Blog Images

A lot of my previously posted pictures are missing from my blog. I'm trying to correct the problem, but right now the archives are void of pics. Sorry about that to anyone trying to view old posts. :(

Today's NEW Art Work

Titled, "Grackle in a Tree Abstract", created in an abstract realism style. For those unfamiliar with the term, "abstract realism" is art where some elements are abstracted but there are some elements that are recognizable. In this work, it's the colors that are abstracted from the norm. My first grade teacher tried to make me use "normal" colors in my classroom work, but I always wanted to make a purple sun, or a red tree, etc....the desire stayed with me and I enjoy using unusual unique colorization in my work. It's one thing that makes my art work unique. :)

Prints of this work are available at the usual places as mentioned here previously. See the slide shows on the right hand side of this blog for links.

Funky FAT BIRD Artist Tote

This FAT BIRD artists' tote is one of my favorite product designs I've done to-date. I just think it is soooo cute. :) I like my fat bird design, the funky font and of course, the RED. This is not a purse. It's a canvas tote, so it's sturdy and handy for lugging art supplies, school supplies, baby stuff, books, even groceries! (NOTE: the font shown in this picture is not the font on the bag now) Follow the link below to see the funky font.)

Here's a link to where it's located in my Zazzle store:

My "FAT BIRD" design is also available on other products and is, of course available as a print on various papers OR ON CANVAS which is my favorite print base. You'll see the other products referenced at the bottom of the tote page.

"Red Splat" Notecards

I've designed my "Red Splat" notecards for my Zazzle shop using digital art, including vector graphics and some cool GIMP brushes. They're very artsy looking, don't you think? They're blank on the inside so you can write your own special message. You can even use these for cool invitation cards to parties or other special events.......even your own GALLERY SHOWS! :)

I have a LOT of card designs on Zazzle and plan on designing more in the coming weeks. So check it out if you like unique cards you can't find in the supermarket or local Wally World.

Art.com Art Rising

I have a new online gallery with a few prints of my digital art available. The site is Art Rising hosted by Art.com.

http://www.artistrising.com/galleries/SharonKShubert

Some of my art work is pending for approval from the print shop set-up, but is still showing in the gallery. So if it says "this work isn't for sale".....that's the reason. If you want the print, you can check on it in a couple of days and hopefully it'll be available by then. So far 20 different works ARE available there as prints.

OR you can also find prints of most of my digital art on the other sites referenced on this blog.

I am discontinuing some of my digital art works a couple of times a week, rotating them out and replacing with the newest works, so if there's a print you want, you should go ahead and place your order before it's no longer available. I'm trying to keep my portfolio new and fresh. :)

Deer Run Abstract Realism Art

"Deer Run" is my newest digital art work, created late last night in an abstract realism style. Follow the links on this blog to my Zazzle store or Red Bubble portfolio if you want a print. :)

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

The GRUNGE Look

Grungy art is all the rage these days. For those not familiar, grungy textures are made and incorporated into art works. Grunge textures are scratchy, smudged, cracked or otherwise marred in some way. They may look old, worn, splattered with paint, etc.....these types of textures in an art work add more interest and depth. Grungy textures can be made by hand using various paints and other mediums then scanned into your computer, OR they can be made digitally with Photoshop or GIMP. I prefer GIMP.

This new sailing abstract I completed a couple of days ago is titled, "Seaworthy Abstract". I used a grungy background for the base. You either like it or love it. A lot of art enthusiasts are loving it these days. :)

Lots of New Art Works!

The new art works I post here on my blog are not the only new pieces I've been creating. To check out all of my new art, visit my Red Bubble portfolio or my Zazzle store where you can purchase prints and products with my art embedded.

This new work was completed last night. It's titled, "Zebras of Botswana". Best viewed larger than is shown here.

Fox in the Clearing

"Fox in the Clearing" created today; my first fox art work! Best viewed in its largest format...lots of small detail in this one.

Prints are available at the previously mentioned places. :)

Watchful Eye

"Watchful Eye" is one of two new art works created today. I usually work best really late at night, but today the ideas were popping before I even drank my first cup of coffee! Maybe I dreamed art. lol.....

Uncharted Territory

If you're familiar with my art work, you know I do a lot of "fishy art". lol......that is art with a focus on fish. These works are inspired by living on the largest lake in Texas, Lake Texoma, for over 15 years, right near the water. The beauty of nature there never ceases to inspire me in my art and in my writing. One of these days I want to move back to the lake and be back in my element again. :)

This new work is titled, "Uncharted Territory"; a digital art collage piece.

June's Full Moon

New wolf art work created a couple of days ago. Yes, I'm behind on updating my blog! This one's titled, "June's Full Moon". Want a print?

Follow the links posted previously to my Red Bubble portfolio or to my Zazzle store. Between the two places, there are prints on paper, canvas, framed or not, just matted, or laminated, or on canvas or poster.....lots of great choices in various sizes, depending on your preferences and needs.

FEATURED Member at Red Bubble!

If you're not familiar with Red Bubble, there are a lot of groups within the site that members can join depending on art style, subject matter and taste. I enjoy meeting group members who share the same interests in not only the digital medium I'm working in, but also those who are drawn to wildlife and nature, color and design, bold and vivid....etc....

This week I'm a Featured Member artist of the Going Coastal group. This group's membership is international so the works vary from coast to coast. Seeing the coastal areas of the world through other member artistic eyes and renditions is very uplifting in spirit for me. I am very honored to be featured in this group of talented artists.

Going Coastal is also featuring my digital art work titled, "Storm on the Waters" this week. If you are an artist, looking for comraderie, true art support from fellow artists, a caring art community, then consider joining Red Bubble and some of the wonderful groups there!

My art work is also being featured in several other Red Bubble groups this week, including Shapes and Patterns group, Elegant Elephants, Giraffes, The Long and Tall of It and more.....

The Beauty of Running Free

I usually don't like doing art showing animals caged or in fenced areas. This piece I did in the wee hours of the morning this morning is an abstract realism piece depicting the beauty of free and wild animals. Of course the color and design exaggerates the theme somewhat because I just can't resist bold, bright, vivid color and yellow has been calling my name lately! lol......

Titled, "The Beauty of Running Free". You know where to find prints if you want them.
